'Slow Travel: The Cotswolds' is a travel guide by author Caroline Mills. First published by Bradt Travel Guides in April 2011 with an updated edition released in February 2017, the book is a personal celebration of what makes the area of the Cotswolds special and offers an invitation to slow down and enjoy its beauty. Slow Cotswolds is 'as much an entertaining armchair read as a practical guide, and intended for locals as well as newcomers'. Slow Cotswolds 'delves into fact and fiction with affection, humour and gusto'.
Slow Cotswolds is also published in the USA by The Globe Pequot Press.
This website is designed to accompany 'Slow Travel: The Cotswolds', the guide book, and enhance its pages. I'll be bringing you extra images and introducing you to others that helped in its creation. There's updated news and information about places mentioned in the guide book, as well as an insight into other places and angles that there simply wasn't space for as a printed text. Look out for the blog to keep readers informed of events happening in the Cotswolds and any other little snippets of information that I think you'll enjoy or should know about to help you make the most of your time in this very special part of the British Isles, either as a resident of the Cotswolds or a welcome visitor. Page references will direct you to the right point in 'Slow Travel: The Cotswolds', the book (page references in blog posts before February 2017 relate to the first edition).
I hope you'll accompany me as the website continues to develop.
